Basketball
2Queer Sporting Alliance
A national LGBTIQA+ sports club with teams across Australia and New Zealand (including Sydney). QSA provides safe, inclusive leagues for LGBTQIA+ players, especially in basketball (and netball). The organization actively supports transgender and gender-diverse athletes.
Sydney Spectres
A premier competitive LGBTQ-inclusive basketball club founded in 2001. Based in Sydney, the Spectres provide a safe space for players of all skill and fitness levels. They hold regular training sessions (e.g. weekly at Sydney Uni) and compete in local basketball leagues.
Hockey
2Bentstix Hockey Club
Sydney’s only LGBTQIA+ hockey club. Bentstix fields multiple men’s and women’s teams in local leagues, and is committed to celebrating diversity and unity on the field. Players of all skill levels are welcome in a supportive, inclusive environment.
Harbour Lights Ice Hockey Club
The first LGBTQIA+ ice hockey club in New South Wales, founded in Sydney in 2021. Harbour Lights welcomes players of all sexual orientations and genders. The club provides an accepting environment for ice hockey enthusiasts and competes in local competitions.

4Lead and Follow
An inclusive dance school in Sydney offering Latin, Ballroom, Swing and Jazz classes. Lead and Follow provides a gender-neutral format (participants can choose to lead or follow in any class). It creates a supportive atmosphere for the LGBTQIA+ community and allies to learn and enjoy dance.
On The Line
A social LGBTQI+ badminton club in Western Sydney (Silverwater). On The Line hosts regular games for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and intersex players. The group is open to all skill levels and focuses on fun, friendly play.
Southern Cross Outdoors Group
A not-for-profit outdoor club offering bushwalking and hiking events for the queer community in Sydney. Founded in 1981, SCOG organizes regular walks, hikes and camping trips. Membership is open to LGBTI individuals and allies, with a focus on fun, fitness and friendship.
Swimming
2Sydney Stingers Water Polo Club
A proud, inclusive water polo club founded 2001 to represent Sydney at the Gay Games. The Sydney Stingers welcome players of any skill level in a friendly atmosphere. They compete in the NSW Metropolitan competition and host their own social tournaments.
Sydney Wett Ones Swimming Club
A masters swim club for the LGBTIQA+ community in Sydney, active for over 30 years. The Wett Ones provides inclusive coaching and competitive training for over 150 members. They compete locally and globally, and emphasize a welcoming environment for lesbian, gay and allied swimmers.
