Queer Sports Leagues in Rome

Libera Rugby Club is an inclusive amateur rugby club based in Rome, described as “the first gay and inclusive rugby club in Italy” . The organization promotes the spread of rugby within the LGBTQIA+ community .

Lupi Roma Outsport (LRO) is an LGBT-friendly soccer association in Rome. It organizes events such as the annual ‘Veni Vidi Daje’ five-a-side tournament to combat racism and homophobia . ASD Gruppo Pesce Roma is an LGBT-oriented swimming club in Rome. Founded in 2001, it was the first openly LGBT sports association in the capital and has since been a reference point for the community in aquatic sports. RoMan Volley is the first gay volleyball association in Rome . The club fields teams in the Italian volleyball federation’s higher divisions (1st and 3rd Divisione FIPAV) and also has multiple amateur/beginner squads, offering an inclusive environment for volleyball players of all levels .
