Providence's LGBTQ+ community is centered in College Hill and the West Side, with a vibrant queer arts and culture scene. Popular venues include The Dark Lady, EGO, and The Stable. Providence Pride is a major celebration, and the city hosts various queer events and cultural festivals. Providence's artistic community and university population create a unique queer culture that values creativity and intellectual engagement.

A monthly gathering held on the last Wednesday of each summer month at Dexter Park in Providence, RI, from 6-8pm. Participants can bring their Works in Progress (WIPs) to share, seek advice, and work alongside fellow crafters of all experience levels. The event is led by textile enthusiast Keelin Maloney and aims to foster community, confidence, and creativity among participants. If the weather is unfavorable, the meeting will be relocated to The Nest PVD.
