D.C. is a queer haven and there are plenty of gay bars offering everything from dancing to trivia with a whole lot in between, but the best gay bar activity goes to Crush for its drag bingo. Every Wednesday night queers of all kinds pack the upper bar on 14th Street NW for an electrifying game of bingo hosted by queens Lenna Lett and Tula. This is not your grandma's bingo. Participants can take as many boards as they want, the free space can't be used, and the rules of the game are decided in the moment by the hosts, known for their crude humor and electrifying personalities. Prizes include anything from liquor to sex toys. If you drink, the $9 Tito's might get you in the mood, but if you're like this writer and don't drink, the vibes alone will get you drunk on joy.
