Queer Chess Club

Eves of Destruction is Victoria, British Columbia’s premiere roller derby league . This women’s league has an inclusive gender policy: anyone whose gender identity aligns with women’s roller derby is welcome to play, and no gender verification is required .

Shred Collective Skate Crew is an inclusive skateboarding community in Victoria. As one member says, it’s been “bailing, smiling, and flying together since 2017,” with a focus on accessibility and welcoming skaters of all ages and skill levels .

Throw Rocks, Not Shade (TRNS) is Victoria’s first LGBTQ-inclusive curling club, founded in 2024. It hosts beginner curling classes and events aimed at introducing LGBTQQIP2SA+ community members to curling, emphasizing the sport’s accessibility and social nature .

Vic Queer Skate is a community for queer and allied skaters in Victoria. It offers skate lessons and social meetups in both indoor and outdoor settings, welcoming skaters of all skill levels .

GOATS Climbing provides a non-judgmental, inclusive climbing community in Victoria. It hosts regular climb nights and lessons, and even social events like drag shows. All skill levels are encouraged and supported in this space .

Queers Get Wet is a community initiative (via a Facebook page) for planning LGBTQ+ swimming events in Victoria, including Pride swim outings and related social nights. The group describes itself as arranging queer community swims and gatherings in a friendly setting .

Queer Soccer runs weekly pickup games in Victoria for queer, bi, trans, and nonbinary players (and allies). All skill levels are welcome and it’s free to join. The group also hosts occasional social events (e.g. a Pride barbecue) alongside the matches .
