Between Goodbyes is an intimate documentary that explores the journey of Mieke, a queer Korean adoptee raised in the Netherlands, and her birth mother Okgyun, who was forced to give her up due to South Korea's one-child policy. Six years after their emotional reunion, Mieke returns to Seoul with her wife to celebrate their marriage, navigating themes of love, loss, and cultural gaps. The film delves into the lasting impacts of international adoption and the personal journeys of reconciliation and identity for adoptees. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with director Jota Mun.
