About this event

The 519 marked the 19th day of the 5th month - The 519 Day - by gathering with community, friends, staff, volunteers, and supporters to unveil a new Heritage Toronto plaque honouring The 519's 50-year legacy serving Toronto's 2SLGBTQ+ communities. The new plaque is a replacement and significant expansion of its near 40-year old predecessor commemorating the Granite Club annex, the first use of the building. Retaining the original information, it adds the story of The 519 through its five decades at the heart of Toronto's Church-Wellesley neighbourhood and 2SLGBTQ+ communities. When installed in the coming weeks, this plaque will join others across the city that honour Toronto’s rich queer history.
