The 43rd Annual Beat the Bridge to Beat Diabetes event aims to raise funds for T1D research, advocacy, and support. It features an 8K run and wheelchair race, a 3-mile walk, a 1-mile fun run, and the Diaper Derby for toddlers. The event takes place over Seattle's University Bridge, which is raised during the race, creating a race against the bridge's lift. Participants try to cross before the bridge is raised; those who don't wait for it to lower, enjoying live entertainment in the meantime. The event is part of the Breakthrough T1D Walk program, held annually in multiple locations worldwide.

The 17th Lake Union 10K Run/Walk is scheduled for Sunday, August 9th, 2026, in Seattle, WA, starting at 8:00 AM PDT and ending around 10:30 AM PDT. The event takes place at Lake Union Park near MOHAI, located at 860 Terry Avenue North, Seattle, WA 98109. Participants can enjoy finisher's medals, team benefits, referral rewards, family pricing, age-based discounts, free bib transfers and deferrals, and optional shirts for $10.
