Desert Tennis Association (DTA) is the organization behind the Palm Springs Open, one of the country’s largest international LGBTQ+ tennis tournaments. The nonprofit club brings together gay and lesbian tennis players and allies for competition while raising funds for local charities. Since 2001, DTA has donated over $100,000 to AIDS assistance programs. The annual Palm Springs Open attracts hundreds of LGBTQ+ players each Thanksgiving weekend, emphasizing inclusivity and community through tennis.
