About this event
On June 5, 2026, at the NYC AIDS Memorial, ACT UP New York will host a Candlelight Vigil, March, and Die-in to commemorate the 45th anniversary of the first CDC report on AIDS. The event begins at 19:00 (7 PM) at dusk and aims to raise awareness that AIDS is not over, highlighting ongoing issues related to HIV/AIDS. Participants will gather at the intersection of Greenwich Avenue, Seventh Avenue, and West 12th Street in Manhattan’s West Village for a solemn remembrance, march, and die-in demonstration. The event is organized in partnership with various community organizations and is part of the national 'Seven Days in June' campaign, emphasizing the importance of healthcare funding, research, and community advocacy.
