Leones LGBT+ is a soccer team in Escobedo (Monterrey area) serving the LGBTQ+ community. Founded in 2021 by gay players, it competes in a local men’s 7-a-side league and actively challenges homophobia in sports .

Monterrey has one of Latin America's biggest gay scenes: Marcha de la Diversidad in June draws 50,000+. Barrio Antiguo and San Pedro host Wateke Bar, Las Horas, La Colorina, JACK, and Muxets; drag and themed nights are strong. The city has shifted from conservative to more progressive, though outer areas remain more traditional.
