Liga Mexicana de Fútbol Gay (Ligay MX) is an LGBT-oriented amateur soccer league based in Mexico City. It was pioneered by Edgar Cortés and began as a tournament in 2003 . It includes divisions for gay men (originally with teams like Zorros and Halcones) and a growing women’s division, and it has plans for a transgender division .

Kraken Deportivo is an LGBT-inclusive sports club in Mexico City, founded on August 24, 2019 . It began as a soccer team and has since expanded to include other sports (swimming, basketball, athletics, cheerleading, and volleyball) . By mid-2025, Kraken Deportivo had grown to around 150 members training at various venues across CDMX .
