Girlguiding UK Deadline for Trans Girls

Trans girls have been told they must leave Guides UK by 6 September. This follows the organisation’s December announcement where they said they made the “difficult decision” to bar trans girls from Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Rangers. The announcement followed the 6 April 2025 Supreme Court ruling stating that the legal definition of a woman is based on biological sex. The organisation said that the deadline provides "affected members and their families time to plan, prepare, access support, and decide when - between now and September - they feel ready to leave". By 6 September, any trans girls or women who also volunteer in a role open to “women only” will need to move role.
