Events tomorrow

Glasgow boasts a warm, down-to-earth queer community anchored in the lively bars and clubs of Merchant City and the West End, while also embracing arts, activism and grassroots culture.

A lively in-person showcase celebrating the art and stories of working-class queer lives reimagined. The event features new work by AJ Duncan, Candice Purwin, Madeleine Leisk, and Rachel Jardine, reanimating research through collaboration, creativity, and class-conscious queer politics. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in activities, provide feedback, and engage in academic-artistic conversations. Limited printed copies of the anthology will be available. The event is part of LGBT History Month and takes place at the Learning & Teaching Building, Glasgow.

Working-Class Queers, Re-Imagined: An Artistic Anthology

An artistic exploration of working-class queer experiences, hosted at the Learning & Teaching Building.

This in-person 2-hour workshop at Glasgow Zine Library introduces participants to the art of collage through prompts and hands-on activities. Attendees will explore concepts like cutting, ripping, and composing images, viewing collage as a form of world-building and imagination. Participants will leave with a selection of collage pieces and a prompts sheet to continue experimenting. The event is limited to 10 attendees, includes group discussions and breaks, and emphasizes accessibility and safety measures.
