Matthew and The Keys is a pop/rock singer songwriter project of Matthew Akplu. The queer musician mixes life and love experiences with pop/rock melodies from various inspirations from many top pop musicians of the 2000s and on! Matthew and The Keys has released a full length album called “Victory” in 2021, and his 6 song EP, “Tears On The Prairies”, released in September 2025 including songs about the ups and downs of relationships in the POV of a Black gay man. He writes songs about community, self love, lust, betrayal and all the other human emotions. Let’s take a ride on the prairies with Matthew and The Keys!
