Queer Sports Leagues in Edinburgh

LGBT Basketball Group is a friendly and informal weekly group for LGBTQI beginners and regular players alike. We welcome the entire diversity of the LGBTQI community and any supporters they wish to bring. The sessions are open to all levels of fitness and are fun and competitive but relaxed, encouraging a 'have a go' attitude for new or shy players .

T Climbing Edinburgh is a regular meetup for trans and non-binary climbers. It organises visits to bouldering gyms around Edinburgh and welcomes new climbers. Membership is open to all trans and non-binary people interested in climbing .

Edinburgh Queer Hiking promotes inclusivity and social justice by organizing hikes in and around Edinburgh for LGBTQIA+ people and allies. The group aims to create a safe queer space inclusive of all identities, with monthly hikes accessible via public transport. People of all hiking abilities are welcome, and equipment (boots, poles, etc.) can be borrowed to lower barriers to participation .

Edinburgh Racqueteers is a friendly intermediate badminton group (predominantly LGBTIQ+). We like to play for fun and socialise afterwards; some of our members like to play competitively. All players must be 18+ and we play weekly on Thursday evenings .

Edinburgh Frontrunners is a running club for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex and straight friends. Membership is open to all, regardless of age, gender identity or expression, sexuality or running ability . The club is part of an international network of Frontrunners groups with branches in over 100 cities worldwide and welcomes members of all abilities.

HotScots FC is an adult (18+) amateur football club, established in 2007 as Scotland’s first LGBT+ football club. Based in Edinburgh, the club provides football and social events and is inclusive of all players regardless of sexuality, gender identity, religion or nationality. New players of any experience are welcome .

Queer Swim Edinburgh is an LGBTQIA+ and friends inclusive group for outdoor swimming events. The aim is to improve both participants’ mental and physical health and to provide social support to those in the community struggling with mental health issues . It is a free, non-profit weekly event (participants swim at their own risk in organized social swims) .

Edinburgh Curveballs is a weekly social squash, tennis and padel tennis club for beginners and intermediate players, and anyone who just fancies a go for a laugh. The club promotes a diverse membership of LGBTQ+ people and friends, with racquets provided and social drinks after each session .
