The next session of our Outhouse Book Club is happening on Wednesday, where we’ll be reading Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli. Simon Spier is sixteen, keeps a lot to himself, and has been exchanging anonymous emails with a classmate known only as “Blue”, a boy he’s falling for without knowing who he is. But when a nosy classmate discovers the emails and threatens to out him, Simon’s carefully managed double life begins to unravel. Funny, warm, and genuinely joyful, this is a love story about being seen, and finally letting yourself be. If you’ve seen the film adaptation, Love, Simon, the book is well worth a revisit.
