About this event

Join the Vanishing Point Ensemble at Dorothy in Chicago for an evening of contemporary chamber music. The program, titled 'Intersecting Planes,' features works that blend contrasting musical traditions and fragmentation, including influences from Renaissance chorale, Gregorian chant, Celtic fiddle tunes, Georgian and Japanese folk songs, heavy metal, American and Appalachian traditions, and Mozart. The performance will include works by Kevin Lau, Gabriela Ortiz, Paul Wiancko, Gabriella Smith, and Reena Esmail, performed by violinists Carmen Abelson and Dylan Feldpausch, violist Rebecca Miller, and cellist J Holzen. The concert is approximately one hour long with no intermission. Doors open at 6:00 pm, and the performance begins at 7:00 pm. The venue remains open until 11:00 pm. Attendance is free with RSVP, and a $12 cover charge applies at the door.
