Calgary's LGBTQ+ community is primarily centered around the Beltline neighborhood, particularly along 17th Avenue SW. The city hosts Calgary Pride annually and has a growing queer scene with venues like Twisted Element, The Backlot, and Goliath's. Despite being in traditionally conservative Alberta, Calgary has developed a more progressive LGBTQ+ community with various support organizations, queer-friendly businesses, and cultural events that celebrate diversity.

Our youth programming is for 2SLGBTQ+ youth ages 13-18 along with their friends, families, and supporters. We aim to create fun, affirming, and friendly spaces for queer and trans youth! This is a drop-in group, so no registration is required.

A community group for queer men, including cis men, trans men, transmasculine people, and anyone under the masculine identity umbrella who is gay, bi, pan, toric, queer, questioning, or are otherwise attracted to guys. The group will be meeting in the boardroom at the NEW CommunityWise Resource Centre, 2nd Floor-2710 17 Ave SE, Calgary, AB, T2A 0P6. Attendees will be accepted on a drop-in basis until room capacity of 20 people is reached. Please arrive before 7:00 PM.

Between Men - In-Person Meeting

A support and community meeting for queer men of all identities who are attracted to guys.

A community group for racialized 2SLGBTQ+ community members. This includes community members who are Black, Indigenous, and people of color. The group will be meeting in the boardroom at the NEW CommunityWise Resource Centre, 2nd Floor-2710 17 Ave SE, Calgary, AB, T2A 0P6. Attendees are accepted on a drop-in basis until room capacity of 25 people is reached. Please arrive before 7:00 PM.

A closed community group for racialized 2SLGBTQ+ individuals to connect and share in person.

An in-person event celebrating Black heritage and community impact, themed 'Roots and Royalty.' The gala features a red carpet experience, dinner and networking, awards presentations including the Ally Award and Community Impact & Excellence Award, cultural performances from the African and Caribbean diaspora, and entertainment with music and dancing. It aims to honor individuals and organizations promoting Black empowerment, inclusion, and diversity within Airdrie. The event takes place at Town & Country Centre, 275 Jensen Drive Northeast, Airdrie, AB, on Saturday, February 28, 2026, from 16:00 to 20:00 MST.

Queer Calgary

A weekly social event where LGBTQ+ people play board games together in a cozy and welcoming environment.

Join Queer Calgary for an inclusive and supportive rock climbing experience at various Calgary locations throughout 2026. Events are scheduled on multiple dates, including January 4, 25; February 8; March 8, 22; April 12, 19; and May 3, 17, 31. Each event offers opportunities for climbers of all levels to connect, have fun, and show pride on the walls. Locations include Calgary Climbing Centre - Chinook, Rocky Mountain, and Stronghold. The events run from 17:30 to 20:00, with costs including day passes and rental packages. These gatherings aim to foster community, joy, and queer visibility in a safe environment.

A vibrant celebration of Arab arts and culture held at Calgary Public Library on April 18, 2026, from 2:30 PM to 9:00 PM. The event features Egyptian dances, Arab creative competitions, a Palestinian kitchen, a buffet and reception with cultural activities like calligraphy, henna tattoos, and murals. Attendees can enjoy Arab stand-up comedy and live music by the HAWA Ensemble from Syria. Organized by the Calgary Arab Arts & Culture Society, this event marks Arab Heritage Month with performances, cultural showcases, and community engagement.
