Bologna

The A.S.D. BUGS Bologna is an LGBTQ-inclusive amateur soccer team founded in Bologna in September 2010. It brings together players who train weekly with the goal of providing a welcoming environment for anyone wanting to play football. The association’s stated mission is to contribute concretely to the fight against homophobia in sport and against all kinds of discrimination .

Boga Tennis is the LGBT tennis section of Bogasport (a sports association in Bologna). It was created in September 2010 by two Bogasport members to form a tennis group with an LGBT focus . The club includes both men and women (gay, straight, bisexual, lesbians, etc.) of all ages and skill levels, aiming to provide a fun and friendly environment for tennis and socializing . They hold regular training sessions (typically twice a week) and participate in LGBT-inclusive tennis tournaments in Italy (Milan, Rome) and Europe .

Bologna Quidditch A.S.D. (nicknamed the Hinkypunks) is the local quidditch team, a mixed-gender sport inspired by Harry Potter. Founded in 2014 , it emphasizes inclusivity: mixed teams allow all genders and sexual orientations to play together without restrictions . The club is part of the Italian Quidditch association and has hosted national events (it hosted the 2022 Italian Quidditch Cup in Bologna ) and even won the Italian championship in 2024 .
