About this event
A Death Cafe is a group discussion about death, where participants can gather to eat, drink, and talk openly about the topic. Inspired by Swiss sociologist Bernard Crettaz and initiated by Jon Underwood in 2011, it aims to increase awareness of death and help people make the most of their finite lives. This event at Bird in Hand Coffee & Books in Baltimore offers a safe, respectful, and confidential space for destigmatizing conversations about death, without any agenda or objectives. It is not a grief support or counseling session, but rather a discussion group with no specific themes. The event features refreshments and nourishing food, and is organized by The Ivy Bookshop.
