Hands On: The Great Chair Hack of 2026

The Great Chair Hack is a design challenge presented by the Museum of Design Atlanta (MODA), taking place in Piedmont Park during the Dogwood Festival on April 11, 2026. Teams of 2-4 participants, all over 18, are given an unassembled IKEA chair and three hours to transform it into anything but a chair, using their creativity and limited materials. The event encourages ingenuity, resourcefulness, and reimagining everyday objects, with prizes awarded for the most inventive designs. Participants must register in advance, and the event includes a panel review and awards ceremony from 3 to 4 PM.
