The Black Feminist Book Club is hosting an in-person discussion of 'The Death of Vivek Oji' by Akwaeke Emezi at Charis Books & More in Decatur, GA. The event takes place on Sunday, July 5th, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM. The book club focuses on works by Black transgender, gender-expansive, and women writers, centering Black feminist perspectives and lived experiences. Yemisi Combahee facilitates the group, which welcomes all community members to attend, with an emphasis on Black women and gender-expansive individuals. Attendees are encouraged to read the book beforehand but are welcome regardless of their reading status. The event is free, with a suggested donation of $5-20 to support Charis Circle. Participants are advised to wear masks and adhere to health guidelines.
