About this event

The Black Feminist Book Club meets in person at Charis Books & More in Decatur, GA, on Sunday, June 7th, 2026, from 15:00 to 16:30. The group reads books by Black trans, gender expansive, and women writers that center Black feminist perspectives on liberation and lived experiences. This session focuses on Audre Lorde's 'The Cancer Journals,' a powerful memoir and reflection on her experience with breast cancer and mastectomy. Facilitated by Yemisi Combahee, the event encourages community discussion and is open to all, with a suggested donation of $5-20 to support Charis Circle.
